Italian Leather Shoes

One other thing I love about ukay-ukay shopping: the incredibly low prices makes experimenting with different shoe choices affordable and relatively guilt-free. I used to buy shoes to match my outfits, never the other way around, until much recently. Take these Italian leather shoes, for instance. A friend pointed them out to me while we were poking around ukay-ukays at Cubao and I was immediately attracted to their design. I’ve always loved the look of multiple buckles, but I was on the fence with this one because of the color. Dark green isn’t as easy to wear as brown, and I was hard-pressed to find something in my closet that would look good with these shoes.

I ended up buying them anyway. What the hell – they fit me well, and P450 isn’t such a huge loss. I figured I can put them up for sale at the store if I really can’t find anything to wear with them.

Eventually, I figured out that yellows and browns looked all right with dark green. This pale yellow dress has been sitting in my closet since I bought it at a nearby ukay-ukay store several months ago, and I suppose it’s about time I wore it out. They don’t look too bad with the shoes, either!

Yeah I need to work on learning how to sit properly.

how do you disinfect the shoes that you get from thrift stores? just wondering. not trying to sound prissy or anything, just really curious.

my sister got a pair of sneakers from a thrift store recently, those you could wash but what do you do to leather shoes?

Hmm, I usually just the outside and insides with a slightly damp washcloth, then I disinfect the insides with Lysol and leave it to dry before keeping them. I’m not sure if this is the “correct” way to go about disinfecting ukay-ukay shoes, but it’s how I’ve always done it and so far I haven’t had any problems!
